about

TOMORROW

Tomorrow by Flicker.
Album: At Least 1000 Words

Fun Facts:
* Tomorrow was almost called Tomorrow Will Be Better, as it’s good to have something to look forward to when one is feeling glum.
* When things are bad, there is cause for optimism.
* If one has a bad day, the law of averages would suggest the next day will probably be better.
* The “…will be better” part is therefore implied in the title.
* This is a tune of hope.
* It is another tune where some brass would have been desirable, but none was forthcoming.
* Three different guitars – Nicodemus, the Ice Maiden and the Stratocaster – all have their parts to play here.
* Tomorrow starts with the Stratocaster, which plays the main theme in E.
* Nicodemus plays the long chords, including some really unlikely inversion of D major.
* The Ice Maiden does the swoopy noisy harmonic parts.
* Dave plays the bass on his Fender.
* The key change to A at the end was something Flicker did in a jam in Tomorrow‘s formative stages.
* It was outstandingly good on the first time and Flicker never felt they quite recaptured the magic of that groove.
* Despite searching high and low and numerous different takes and versions, this was the closest they could manage.
* The tempo is 116 BPM.
