BEAUTIFUL WINGS

Beautiful Wings by Flicker.
Album: At Least 1000 Words

Fun Facts:
* Black Sabbath once told us that fairies wear boots.
* Flicker can confirm this.
* It is absolutely true.
* There was once a Very Naughty Fairy who had the most beautiful wings.
* One day George played her this tune.
* She didn’t like it, so she flew away, leaving a sparkly trail behind her.
* George’s girlfriend at the time often wore fairy wings.
* If she walked past something and brushed her wings against it, she would cry “Ow!”, hold the wing, grimace, and complain of having a terrible wing-ache.
* On the occasion of the Solar Eclipse in south west England in 1999, a member of the public asked the Very Naughty Fairy how she got her beautiful wings.
* A: Where did you get your beautiful wings?
* B: Well… when I was a very small fairy I had these two funny little stumps on my shoulder blades, and then suddenly one day, I woke up and these two beautiful wings had grown.
* A: Huh. Come on, where did you get them, really?
* B: (stamping booted foot in indignation) I told you already!
* A: …!?!
* Beautiful Wings was composed on acoustic guitar using DADFCE tuning.
* It starts in D minor and ends in F major.
* There was a guitar harmonic that had to be recorded separately as it just wasn’t coming across loudly enough.
* Emma’s flute was the first or second take.
* She had never heard the tune before.
* Lucy’s cello avoids cliches and the obvious and plays things one might not expect.
* The evil laughter is the mischieviousness of the naughty fairies.
* The baby sounds represent the innocence and wonder of fairydom.
* There is a sampled bell from the food bar inside the Double Locks Hotel near Exeter.
* The seagulls represent the sounds of Sidmouth, where they often went.
